SAGE Eldercare will host trained volunteer tax preparers who are trained by the
IRS through the AARP Tax Aide program.  

The AARP Free Tax Assistance service is available to all tax payers with middle
or low income, with special attention given to people who are 60 or older.  The
tax program is offered to all area residents.  

Taxpayers should bring a copy of their 2008 Federal and State income tax
returns; their 2009 income tax packets; their November 2009 real estate tax
bill; Federal information forms for 2009 (W-2 forms; SSA 1099 form; 1099s for
interest; dividends and other income, 1099 for pension, annuity and IRA
distribution; 1099 B forms for assets sold during the year; receipts or
cancelled checks if itemizing deductions; and Social Security numbers for
dependents.   

This is a confidential service and preparation is by appointment only.
