Description: |
The rolling hills of scenic Summit will once again beckon runners to test their
speed and endurance against competitors from the tri-state area. The
challenging course offers the opportunity for hundreds of runners to usher in
the spring racing season in style. Last year, at our 10th annual race, nearly
five-hundred runners registered. For 2010, we again expect hundreds of runners
to participate in our sanctioned USATF championship race.
All registered runners will be treated to amenities including the Our House 5
Miler long-sleeve commemorative tee-shirt, delicious pre- and post race
refreshments, and a not to be missed random prize drawing.
For those that want to participate, but aren’t runners the 2-Mile Walk is
ideal. It starts on the Village Green and heads into the scenic hills of
Summit.
We will also hold our Annual “Everyone’s a Winner” race, which promotes our
theme, Our House, Our Community. Hundreds of school age children with special
needs live in the Our House area, and many will eventually be eligible for
services and programs. A race just for them offered a chance to join a
community-wide event, a race where everyone is a winner.
We are once again inviting individuals with developmental disabilities to
participate and each will receive a tee-shirt, medal and refreshments.
